• Best Actor Sean Penn for his role in Milk.
• Best actress goes to  Kate Winslet for The Reader! She breaks the 13 year curse and is justly rewarded for her fantastic work
• Best Director goes to Danny Boyle for his Slumdog millionaire. He jumps for joy (literally), and with good reason.
• Best Foreign Film is Departures, a Japanese film.
• Jai Ho has won the Oscar for Best Song! Two Oscars for India’s finest modern musician! What a night to remember. a classy, gracious acceptance speech from Mr Rahman. Well deserved. You’ve made all of India proud.
• Mr Rahman won the oscar for best Original Score
• Best Film Editing is goes to Chris Dickens
• The Best Sound Mixing award goes to Slumdog Millionaire’s Resul Pookutty.
• Best Sound Editing goes to The Dark Knight
• The Academy Award for best Visual Effects is The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
• The best supporting actress is Penelope Cruz for Vicky Cristina Barcelona!
• The Best Original Screenplay goes to Dustin Lance Black for Milk!
• Best Adapted Screenplay goes to Simon Beaufoy for his Slumdog Millionaire.
• Wall-E won the Best Animated Film.
• The Best Animated Short Film goes to La Maison en Petit Cubes.
• The Best Art Direction goes to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
• Best Costume Design goes to The Duchess (Michael O’Connor).
• Best Make-Up goes to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button!
