Preventive measures of Swine flu (swine influenza virus)Preventive measures of Swine flu (swine influenza virus)

Swine flu is an infection of a host animal by any one of several specific types of microscopic organisms called “swine influenza virus”.Basically Swine flu is a respiratory disease that infects pigs . This new killer swine flu virus is a never-before-seen virus in human beings that can cause a serious situation with “pandemic potential.” The symptoms of Swine Flu are similar to that of a regular seasonal flu that includes fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.

The preventive measures are as follows:

1. Cover your mouth and nose with tissues when you sneeze or cough and dispose them properly. Practice good personal hygiene and make sure you use surgical masks and gloves and other sanitary products when you are stepping out of your home.

2. Those who travel abroad have to be alert about the epidemic situation. Especially those who travel to California, Kansas, New York, Ohio and Texas have to be very cautions avoiding crowded groups because confirmed human cases of the swine flu virus are found in these cities.

3. As there are chances of spreading this Flu viruses when people with influenza cough or sneeze, everyone should make a special effort to avoid contact with potential virus carriers.

4. Stay at home if you are sick and take the advice of your physician if illness continues and take regular check up.

UPA wins India elections 2009. My wishes for them. And I wish that they will fulfill all their promises made before elections.

The UPA has a shot at another five-year term. Incidentally, Rahul Gandhi had a big role to play in the Congress’s for going it alone in UP. Also, he was the star campaigner for the Congress, clocking the most miles and addressing most rallies. True, the Congress has benefited from the efforts of several other leaders and chief ministers.

At last count the UPA had got 261 seats and were headed to get nearly 262. The NDA meanwhile had got 156 and was slated to get more nearly 158. Third Front is at a distant third with less than 100 seats. The Fourth Front suffered the most startling defeat with all of its constituents suffering significant erosion in seat numbers.

The Congress sweep surprised foes and friends. It shocked the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which had hoped to return to power after a five-year gap.

Indian General Elections Results 2009Indian General Elections Results 2009

The world’s largest democracy voted and general elections 2009 have concluded on May 13, 2009. Now Its time for the results.

While there are 714 million eligible electorate at about 828,000 polling stations

The turnout was only about 59 to 60%. This is still a little higher than the previous elections. Political parties already started mudslinging to reach the magic figure of 270 and the two major  parties are unarguably the Indian National Congress which ruled the country for over 4 decades and the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Hindu nationalist party. There is also a third front with

communists and some socialist and regional parties vying for the big seat.it will be interesting to see which party/alliance will emerge the winner of elections in India. Based on several exit poll surveys it is clear that a clear majority of any party is a hard outcome and there is going to be a new trend unfolding in Indian politics.
